Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Sendr (“Sendr”, “we”, “us”) is an advertising and marketing services agency based in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, India. We build and run WhatsApp automation, AI voice agents, and business systems for local and small businesses. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Who this policy applies to
This policy covers two situations:
- You contact Sendr or visit sendr.work. We decide how that information is used.
- You message or call a business that uses a system we built. The business decides what its WhatsApp bot or voice agent collects and why. We process that data on the business's behalf and follow its instructions. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the business is the Data Fiduciary and Sendr acts as its Data Processor. The business's own privacy policy also applies to you.
Information we collect
When you contact us
Your name, email address, phone number, business name, and anything you choose to tell us by email, on WhatsApp, or during a call. Messages you send us on WhatsApp are carried through Meta's systems and are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
When you visit sendr.work
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage and is never sent to us. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs - such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request - to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
Through systems we run for businesses
- Your WhatsApp phone number and profile name
- The content of the messages you send, including photos, documents, or voice notes
- For voice agents: your phone number, the audio of the call (processed to understand what you say), and a transcript of the call. Call recordings are kept only if the business has chosen to keep them.
- Details needed to complete what you asked for, such as your name, the service you want, and appointment dates and times
- Technical information such as message timestamps and delivery status
How we use information
- To reply to your enquiry and talk with you about our services
- On behalf of businesses: to understand and respond to your messages and calls, book or change appointments, answer questions, send confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups, and pass conversations to the business's staff when needed
- To keep our systems working: fixing errors, monitoring reliability, and preventing misuse
- To meet our legal obligations
We do not sell personal data. We do not use one business's customer data to serve another business, and we do not use personal data to build advertising profiles.
AI and automated replies
Our WhatsApp bots and voice agents use AI models to interpret messages and speech and to write replies, so the content of your messages or calls is processed by an AI model provider. Automated replies can sometimes be wrong. If you'd rather deal with a person, tell the business - in the chat or through any other contact method it offers.
Who we share information with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run these systems, and only as much as each one needs:
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) - WhatsApp messages are carried through Meta's systems and are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy
- Telephony providers - to connect and route voice calls
- AI model providers - to interpret messages and speech and to generate replies
- Cloud hosting and automation providers - where our systems run and where data is stored
- Tools a business already uses - such as its calendar, booking software, CRM, or spreadsheets, when the business asks us to connect them
- Authorities - when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of people
Some of these providers store or process data outside India. Where they do, we rely on transfers permitted under Indian law.
WhatsApp marketing messages
We send marketing messages on a business's behalf only to people who have agreed to receive them from that business, in line with WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy. You can stop them at any time by telling the business in the chat that you don't want further messages, or by blocking the number in WhatsApp.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries to Sendr: while we're in contact, and for up to two years after our last contact, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- Data in systems we run for businesses: for as long as the business instructs. When our work with a business ends, we delete or return its data unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Website server logs: for the limited period set by our hosting provider.
How we protect information
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to move data between systems, limit access to people who need it for their work, and use access controls on the services where data is stored. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform the affected business without delay, and notify affected individuals and the Data Protection Board of India where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how it's used
- ask us to correct, complete, or update it
- ask us to erase it once it's no longer needed, or when you withdraw consent
- withdraw consent you've given, as easily as you gave it
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to
- raise a grievance with us, and complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you're not satisfied with our response
For information you gave Sendr directly, email narayana@sendr.work. For data held in a system we run for a business, contact that business first. If you contact us instead, we'll pass your request to the business and help it respond.
Children
Our website and services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children (people under 18) for our own purposes. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, contact us and we'll delete it.
